Kasia Offers Comfort Without Asking Cesmae to Change

Cesmae offers to remake herself for Morgan while also worrying about Carlisle, whose feelings for him preceded the newly recognized bond. After he rejects her, Kasia supplies a different kind of response: reassurance that they can recover without earning his approval. Cesmae's concern that her uncle might worry provides another small connection outside Morgan, though her forced smile shows that finding those supports does not instantly erase the hurt.

How does Kasia's reassurance differ from the bargain Cesmae tries to make with Morgan?
