Relationships in the opening

No Missed Calls After a Day of Distress

Returning to her car after the mountain ordeal, Chantelle finds no sign that Jackson checked on her. That absence contrasts with her own inability to rest when he is late, and his later contempt clashes with the support he once promised. The opening's relationship problem is therefore not only disagreement about having a child, but the unequal concern visible in an exhausting day and the conversation that follows at home.

What does the contrast between their responses to each other's absence reveal about care in the relationship?
