Relationships in the opening

Sean Gives Reign Encouragement Without Promising Acceptance

Reign apologizes after hurting Sean in training, but he treats the incident as evidence that their work is progressing. When she worries that everyone outside will fear or hate her, he does not promise universal kindness. His more measured reassurance contrasts with her father's absence and Wilma's occasional visits, showing why this mentor has become her main source of confidence rather than merely the person supervising her strength.

How does Sean reassure Reign while still acknowledging that life outside may be difficult?
