Relationships in the opening

A Locket Holds the Support Luxuria Cannot Reach

Luxuria clutches Kahel's gift while recalling his promise to challenge the man claiming her. That absent support contrasts with Rella's mocking arrival and the contradictory stories surrounding her missing mother. These opening paragraphs place Luxuria's hope in remembered affection and a promised intervention, contrasting the comfort represented by the locket with the isolation of waiting beside someone who openly mocks her situation.

Which relationships offer Luxuria present support, and which exist mainly as memories, rumors, or promises?
