Chapter 1

PROLOGUE

When the heavy wind blew and the sound of the rooftop struggling to stay still echoed in her ear, she felt startled. Goosebumps settled on her skin. Slowly, she peeped, but her vision was still blurry, so she shut her eyes again.

As if the wind wanted her awake, it made a serene sound. This time, her clothes waved into the air while she clutched them, battling to keep them down, but her efforts were wasted.

It felt like a dream, and she was almost convinced that it was not until she let her eyes open again, this time, able to see the premises she was in. Her eyes bulged as she scanned the area. She concealed her lips with her palms, scared that screaming would attract anyone closer.

Last night, she had left the palace to go enjoy the full moon festival like every other person, even though she was a slave. The last thing she could recall was the sudden rage of pleasure that took over her after a few hours….and despite how she tried to control her emotions, her body betrayed her.

She had left the festival ground to a corner to adjust to what her body wanted. Her body was on fire—it hurt her—but the pleasure couldn't let her think about the burning rage of flame in her. The feeling was so intense that she couldn't just end it all by placing her palm on her pelvic region. She couldn't even tell when she stroked her clit, trying to please the pleasure that arose in her.

The hut! How did she end up in the hut? She was just beside a tree, leaning on it, with her panties adjusted and her finger flicking her throbbing clit steadily while she licked her lips to the satisfaction it gave.

She rolled her eyes to the side, her lips agape. “How come? Did they find me doing that to myself? What happened to me last night? I've never felt that way for once…” a lot of questions but with no single answer.

Again, she looked at herself, and her dress was just okay as if nothing happened. “Someone must have seen me there and brought me here. But, did I sleep off that I can't tell who that was?” she kept talking to herself, but was yet to get the answer she needed. “I'll just count myself as dead. Ian and Kaz will rip me apart today. It's morning and I'm not in the palace.”

She tried to stand, but a sudden rush of pain streamed all over her body to her spines, causing her to let out a scream before succumbing back to the floor. She swallowed bitterly and shut her eyes for some time while trying to regulate her breathing.

When she opened her eyes again, the pains had dissipated gradually. Slowly, she stood to her feet, feeling sore between her legs.

“Did I wound myself there? Is it because I rubbed my fingers there last night? But it wasn't painful…..” she mumbled while gradually lifting her gown. “Moon goddess! I was raped last night. I've been disvirgined. Who the heck did this to me? Was I drugged or what???”

Who was it that could take advantage of her because she was wolfless and couldn't protect herself? If her brothers got to know about it, she would certainly be executed.

Her worst nightmare was not having any memory of how she ended up in the hut and who it was that did that to her. She was yet to understand why her body was on fire last night…and then this.

She winked constantly, hoping to hold back her tears. She was certainly going to be punished for being out of the palace because slaves had no right to leave when not authorized to. Last night at the festival, she was expected to return with the others, but she didn't…and if word got out that she lost her virginity, her brothers would vent their anger on her.

“I hate this cruel world. I keep losing everything I cherish,” she screamed and covered her face, sniffing continously.

It seemed like her tears awakened a demon, because she was startled by the sudden strong wind that threw up the rooftop of the hut. Her eyes flew open as she looked around. What sort of wind would do that?

“I really have to leave this place alive, at least,” she told herself and bent to pick up her footwear when a sudden raspy masculine voice sent chills all over her body.

She halted, darting her eyes about. “What is going on? Why can't I see who's speaking?” she asked herself, feet glued to the floor, too heavy that she couldn't raise them any longer.

“You called for me last night, and I answered you, female. Don't make it look like I forced you into it….because you solely asked me to do with you whatever I wish.” that voice said to her, more like a command and a growl.

Her footwear slipped from her palm. She twisted her lips, “There's no way I asked for that. I can never!!!”

“It was a mini heat, and I'm certain you won't stand your full heat. But in all, make sure we don't meet again, or you might meet your demise that day.”

She sneered and pulled a straight face. “You must think that I'm scared of you. Who the hell are you to take over me without my consent and still blame me? My heat? What business do you have with my heat?” her voice raised at each word. Eyes flickered while she tightened her fist, her head cocked to the side.

There was silence for some time, and then the voice came again, “I am the CURSED LYCAN KING!!”

Eyes widened. Her belly twisted into a knot. Cursed what? How did she end up having a thing to do with such a savage man that no one has ever seen? She shook her head. He must have mistook her for someone else. There's no way she called for him.

First, she was a wolfless werewolf slave princess. Second, the werewolves and humans are adversaries to the Lycans, so they should have nothing in common.

The cursed lycan king is one that no one—even most of the lycans—had ever seen. He is said to be a dark lord and would kill anyone who crosses his path. If she was really alive after encountering him, then the moon goddess must be so merciful to her.

Without saying a single thing again, she picked up her footwear from the floor and took to her heels, running as fast as her legs could carry her.

This would be a secret only she would know, and the best thing she would do to herself was to avoid whatever would make her encounter such a coldhearted dark king again.

He was the king that no one had ever seen. Even his species are so scared of seeing his face—KING GODRIC. And, she was an alpha princess demoted to a slave. A wolfless werewolf that everyone looks down on—ODESSA.

CHAPTER 1

SIX YEARS LATER

THE MOON SCARLET PACK

The ceramic plate slipped from her palm and shattered on the floor, calling the attention of the people around her. She stiffened at that spot, staring at the pieced plate while the chef hurried closer.

She bent to pick them, but a strong yank on her hair caused her to let out a loud, painful groan. The pain was excruciating. She struggled to escape the chef, but the grip became intense.

“You stupid wolfless thing!” The chef pushed her forward, and she slammed her head on the cabinet. “Why can't you do anything right? Whatever you lay your hands on would be destroyed. That's why you don't have a wolf and common sense.”

“Odessa!” came another voice from the corridor. They all swirled their neck towards the door to see who it was that mentioned her name. The chief beta of the Alpha Kings showed up before them. “You must follow me now…..”

She sniffled, still rubbing her forehead. She looked at the chef and the others around but didn't say a thing. All she had to do was to walk away with the Beta without knowing why she was being called.

That has been her fate right after the death of her parents. She became a slave in her palace. Her wolf was taken away from her, making her weaker than a mere human.

They all call her a murderer because they insist that she poisoned her parents to death. Her brothers despised even her footsteps….not even a person in the palace loved her.

She walked to the Beta and bowed to him.

“Beta, can you let her pack up this dirt first?” the chef said, her fingers pointing at Odessa.

Odessa glanced at the Beta, who couldn't even spare her a glance. “I'll do it when I'm back. Just leave it there.” she responded to the chef, scowling.

Beta Khal snorted and walked away, and then she followed him instantly. They reached Beta's office, and he locked up the door, dropped the rope he was holding, and began unbuckling his trousers. “Strip your clothes!”

Her eyes flew wide. “Huh!”

He turned to her, “You heard me well, Odessa. Don't waste my time.”

She stepped backwards, shaking her head. They had molested her so much, and she endured everything. Why would it reach this? She wasn't his girlfriend—and he even has one. Why would he want to abuse her sexually all because he knows that her brothers or their Luna will do nothing?

“Stop wasting my precious time. I'll be real quick so you can go clean up the mess you made,” he uttered, staring right at her face.

Odessa pouted her lips, “I can't do it! I'm sorry.”

“Who said so? Aren't you old enough to be fucked? You're twenty-two years of age, aren't you?” he dashed closer to her but she slipped away from his palm. “Look, you can't get out of here until I get this done. You are in this palace to serve everyone in every way unless you wish to be executed as a murderer.”

She glared at him, “I'm not a murderer. I didn't poison them.”

“Spare me the yell. You owe your brothers that.” he snapped back at her.

She swallowed the bile that had formed in her throat. “I wonder how you will stand before my brothers as their right-hand man when you abused their sister. Don't you have a conscience? Can't you think of it and know that you will cross the boundary if you do this?”

“She's lecturing me…..” he mumbled and dragged her closer to him, his palm gripping her collar. “Your life doesn't matter to your brothers, or have you forgotten?”

She felt a cold pit form in her belly. Beta Khal is one of the mighty men in the Pack after her brothers, which means that the probability of escaping from him is zero percent.

“If they weren't your brothers, they would have done the same thing over and over again. You should be grateful that you weren't killed.”

Huh!? Wasn't it better to be killed than to be a servant in her father's house? Even an Omega has more value than her who was supposed to be seen as an Alpha Princess.

“Then, execute me instead. I can't sate your sexual cravings…..” she retorted at him, hoping to pull out of his grip, but it tightened more.

He looked her in the eyes, his lips stretched into a devilish smirk. “You must think that I'm seeking your permission right?” he dug her fingers into her skin, his palm grabbing her throat. “It's one of your duties here.”

Before she could say a thing, he swung her around and made her bend low, her face resting on the table alongside her arms. A lump formed in her throat. Her heart raced faster. There was nothing she could do to save her ass, but one thing she was scared of was Beta Khal finding out that she wasn't a virgin.

Everyone thinks she is still untouched. The incident that took place between her and the cursed lycan king six years ago was still a secret only she knew about. Even though her vagina must have tightened again, he would probably know that she had been fucked by a man, and that would lead to greater punishment from her brothers.

He spanked her ass and lifted her skirt, making her heart skip.

Wouldn't it be better to be fucked again and again by the cursed king than her rival? Everyone in the palace hated her because they thought she was the murderer, and she detested them for believing that she would do that to her parents.

Beta Khal got his hands on her panties. She concealed her lips to not scream although it was of no use….but she would hate herself after this time. Heaven knows she won't be able to stand before him again.

‘Just do it!’ she almost screamed at him, but the sudden sound of a globe on the table shattering on the floor pulled their attention.

Beta Khal twisted his face, staring at the globe until he was completely away from her. He picked up the globe, staring at it. It was a heavy thing that shouldn't taste the floor unless intentionally….then a heavy wind blew, tearing the curtains in the room apart.

Odessa hurried and pulled back her panties, slowly moving to the door.

She halted the moment the wind kicked the door apart and it fell off.

“What the heck!” Beta Khal yelled.

Screams of females filled the building. The servants were running helter-skelter in the corridor.

Odessa found her feet glued to the floor. The more she tried to move, her feet hurt. “This wind!” she moistened her lips, reminiscing on the day the cursed king showed up six years ago in the hut. “We can't meet again. This shouldn't be him,” she muttered, turning, but Beta Khal had unsheathed his sword and left the office.

She looked around. “I have to leave here before they accuse me of something again….” She tried to raise her leg, but this time, the roof was lifted and jacked away by the wind. “Moon goddess!” She covered her face with her palms, gasping for breath. When she let it open, everywhere was dark.

Her belly rumbled. She felt her palms wet.

As a wolfless female, there was no way she could see in the dark. She stood there, her palms clamped to her clothes as she looked around in the dark.

The loud growl of a mighty lycan echoed. Her lips dropped open.

“The cursed lycan king!” she snorted and shut her eyes again.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Three palace guards rushed into the Beta’s office where Odessa was still standing, quivering. They got their hands on her and dragged her out of the office.

She didn't try to fight back because hurling her away like a criminal has already become part of her life. It was still dark, and all she could see was the face of the men, but not sure where they were taking her too.

Suddenly, she was forced to kneel. “Bow to the Lycan King!” came a hoarse masculine voice. She glanced around, trying her luck to see a thing, but she could not even sense a thing in the room except the faces of the guards and the beta that was pinned on her.

Rolling her eyes into her head, she lowered her head gradually, “Greetings, the Lycan King.” her voice wasn't so audible, but she was sure the so-called Lycan King would hear her voice.

She had known that in no circumstance would they refer to him as a cursed King in his presence unless they sought death, because all they knew was that he was cursed, but nothing about how and why he was cursed was written in history.

No one also knew how long he had been living with the curse. They were all born to hear the story from the older ones, and so was the future generation.

Her palms rested on her thighs. She didn't dare to lift her face.

In a twinkle of an eye, the room became bright again. The sunlight of the day shone through them, but there was one corner that had darkness hovering around it.

Odessa raised her face slightly to take a view of the people in the office. She realized it was her brothers’ office, and both the Beta and the guards were also in the office.

The look on her brothers’ faces could tell that they were freaked out.

“Hand over a slave!”

They all shuddered as soon as they heard that voice. No one was seen, just darkness gathered in a corner, straight to the damaged rooftop and weaving around like a wind.

“That's the only option to not be destroyed!” The voice came again.

Odessa grabbed her belly, her hair rising. Was their pack finally going to be destroyed like the other packs? She had read and heard that the Lycans take in the werewolves and humans as their slaves or destroy their land.

They don't seek permission to do a thing because they own even a dry leaf on the floor. Knowing that her species and the Lycans were still enemies before and after her birth, she could tell that life as their slave would be hell.

What about the humans that had no single power? They would die along the way.

Ian, the eldest brother of the twin Alphas, tilted his head high a bit after sparing his sister a glance. “You have to promise not to destroy even an ant in this pack once we hand over a slave to you.” One could tell that he was overwhelmed with fear with the tune of his voice and how it trembled.

Odessa twisted her face. As much as she doesn't want their pack to be destroyed, she can't imagine one of their people—although they hate her—being taken to the Lycan Clan as a slave. Whoever it would be might never return alive.

Like a heavy wind, the darkness that had formed a long rotating cylinder rushed closer to them, just in their middle.

“If your offer is good, then you all will be unscathed until the day I return. I need a female slave who would be of use to both me and my people. You would better not hand over one that would end up dying before I reach my Clan.”

Odessa managed to look into the darkness. She could see a person covered in a dark cloak, but his face was invisible—no part of his skin was seen. She took a hard gulp. Is the darkness part of him because of the curse? Was it even a curse alone, or is there any other thing?

Kaz, the second twin brother of Odessa, threw his hands backwards, “To avoid such a thing from happening, we will offer our sister to you…..

What? Odessa couldn't find her lips moving. She had a lot to say—maybe to scream at her cruel brother, but she went dumb that moment.

“She's an Alpha Princess and is strong enough to play the role.” Kaz completed his statement and averted his gaze.

Odessa tried to stand but couldn't. “Ian and Kaz! Isn't being your slave enough? Why should I be the one taken away?” her lips trembled, her whole body aching like it was tied to a string. “You can't do this. Take back your word!” her teeth gnashed while she glared at her brothers, but it looked like she was talking to herself.

They were not even sparing her a glance.

Just when she was about to force herself up, the storm of darkness was standing before her. As if that wasn't enough, it trolled around her thrice before getting back to the middle of the room.

“Ronan!”

They all flinched at the mention of the name. Instantly, a young Lycan, stoutly built with fierce red eyes, dashed into the office and bowed to the darkness they called their King.

“Bring her to the Clan!”

“Yes, my King!” Ronan responded, and the darkness flew through the roof, sending them all to the floor.

Odessa was already fidgeting. She looked at her brothers a thousand times to meet their gaze, at least, but they seemed to not have a single remorse for what they just did to her.

Tears welled up in her eyes, and she struggled to hold them back. A huge palm gripped her and dragged her to her feet, taking her out of the room.

“Ian! Kaz! Please do something…..” she screamed, letting those tears gush down her cheeks.

Ronan halted his steps and turned to her brothers, “The King has made his choice, so nothing can be done.” he uttered and continued dragging Odessa until they reached the carriage where she was forced to step in.

She gritted her teeth. Her chest tightened, making it look like she was suffocating. She couldn't hold back the tears—even though they were too hot for her cheeks.

“I am more like a human, yet they lied to the King that I was still an Alpha Princess when they made me a wolfless slave.” she thought, reminiscing on the day she was stripped of her royal cloth and was drawn into the dungeon, only to come out as a slave. “Ian and Kaz, I won't forgive you for this. For accusing me of our parent's deaths. For giving me out like a piece of trash into hell…

She sniffled. The carriage was already moving, and she was seated between four soldiers with Ronan. “I hope to make it out alive there.” she concealed her face into her palms, her sobs audible to the men at her sides.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

THE SILVERCREST CLAN

It took hours before Odessa and the Lycans that had taken her hostage arrived in their clan. She was woken up by a heavy smack across her face that had her jolted up instantly, rubbing her eyes and narrowing her gaze to fit the brightness of the day.

A whole day? They had been on the road until it was dark. As much as she tried to comport herself and not fall asleep, she couldn't cheat nature.

Here she was, pushed down from the carriage, and standing in the middle of a field–like area. There were lots of women working—men also, but the crowd bore more women.

She darted her eyes around, catching a glimpse of the faces in the field. “Are they werewolves or humans?” she questioned herself, her brows raised.

“Both!” A man responded to her from behind. “Now, you will have to abide by the rules of the lycan, or you will meet your demise faster than you imagined.” he continued, his voice coming closer.

Odessa turned to see that it was Ronan with a sword in his hand. Was he a savage prince or what? The way he packed his hair into a ponytail and a golden ring tightened it like a bond. His cloak swayed on the floor, making it difficult for his feet to be seen.

His robe was designed with golden pearls as well, but one thing that almost ruined his color was a burn–like scar on the back of his palm.

She stepped back a bit, taking a good look at him. He didn't look too harsh, but she believed that one like him would behead her without a blink of an eye.

“From today, you are a slave in this clan, and you have no say.” his brows wrinkled. “Follow me!”

She lowered her head, wanting to inquire where the other men had already gone, but she recalled that she had no business with it. Now that she's in the Lycan Clan, all that matters is her safety and life.

She would do whatever it would take for her to live, at least.

Her palms curled against each other, resting on her upper abdomen while she followed Ronan gradually until they entered a huge gate made of black stones. It was something costly and precious in her Pack and was also rare. How then did they get it that it was used to construct a good-for-nothing gate?

She could recall a time when her brothers were able to catch a lot of it and had it sold. The money generated from it was more than enough to feed the whole pack members and had extra that was used in the construction of certain things in the pack.

But since then, they hadn't set eyes on any again.

Odessa looked around, the screams of women almost deafening her. “Are they being punished or about to be killed?” she mumbled, hurrying towards Ronan, who had walked faster than her.

There were women all seated on the floor. Some were busy with chores, too. Where then was the scream coming from?

She stepped her feet on the pavement, a broad building constructed with bricks. She released her arms, putting them at her side while they walked deeper into the building.

After so many walks, she came across a room with a wide iron door.

“Blood of the moon goddess!” she stumbled backwards, her voice pulling the attention of Ronan. She shook her head, staring back at the man who took cold but steady steps toward her. His looks were icy like she was going to be devoured. “Forgive me! I got unnecessarily scared.”

Ronan snorted and turned immediately, and she hurried towards him.

Her heart pounded against her ribs. She felt her heart would leap into her throat.

“An interrogation room? That woman won't survive it. I wonder what crime she committed.” she thought, winking. She envisioned the blood that had soaked up the woman's body and how she had already passed out. “How will my life end up here? Will I pass through that hell, too?”

She shook her head, getting the thoughts outta her mind. There's no way she would conclude a fate for herself when she isn't even aware of why they put the woman in such a situation.

“Open the gate!”

The commanding voice of Ronan made her halt. She watched as a guard walked forward and unlocked the heavy padlock that was used on the broad metallic gate.

Ronan turned to her, “This is where you belong until it's your turn….”

Turn? Turn to do what? To die or suffer?

She took a hard gulp, and her heart flinched.

“Step in by yourself, or I'll tell the guard to help you,” Ronan said to her in a hoarse tune.

She avoided his gaze and trailed towards the gate. Her lips dropped open when she got to see the multitude of women sitting in the huge messed-up cell. They all looked tattered and hungry with several wounds on their faces and body.

Just as she crossed the gate, the sound of it being shut back echoed, causing her to turn. She dipped her fingers into her hair and yanked it hard, but not a single scream left her lips.

“Isn't she the Alpha Princess of the Moon Scarlet Pack?”

Odessa turned the moment she heard the mention of her pack. Her eyes fell on each of them gradually until she was done with them.

“She is. I wonder how she ended up here.”

“Why won't she, when she killed her parents? Her brothers must have tossed her out.”

Her grip on her clothes tightened. Why would they be saying such a thing in such a condition that they were?

With the look of it, they were all werewolves.

“If an Alpha Princess could end up here, then who are we not to endure it all?”

She gritted her teeth. So, they still see her as an Alpha Princess, and then it means they are from the neighboring packs. She is the only one from the Moon Scarlet Pack, so there would be no one who would call her a slave in their midst.

She took a good look around and found a space in which she got seated. The floor was damn cold, and so was the wall. “I'll catch a cold once I stay here for a long time. I don't have a wolf, so the tortures will affect me so much.” she pondered and swallowed hard.

Her arms rested on her knees while she looked up to the rooftop.

“What a miserable life I have.” she bit the side of her lips. “If only my parents would stand and attest that I'm innocent. It's too late, I think. Even if they do, I can't leave here anymore.”

The gate made a heavy noise, and the ladies were all rushing backwards.

Odessa only looked at them. She didn't understand what was going on.

Two hefty men dashed into the cell, took a good look at them, and went forward, grabbing two ladies from the middle and taking them out of the cell with them.

She licked her lips and had her eyes shut. “So this is how they do it? Taking us one after the other?” she let her eyes open, followed by a heavy sigh. “I hope they take me next.”

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

In the middle of the night, the grunting of a lycan made the walls reverberate. Odessa, who had hurled herself together, found it difficult to sleep due to the sound, but seeing as the others were sleeping soundly made her wonder if she was the only one hearing the grunt.

At times, she felt the Lycan was closer or maybe before her, causing her to shut her eyes tight.

The cell was so chilly that she was scared to lean on the wall to avoid catching a cold. It was scary, but she managed to put herself together, praying inwardly for daylight.

Someone passed with a lampstand, bringing a few seconds of light into the cell, and she was able to see the way the other females scattered on the floor, deep asleep. “I wish I could. This lycan might devour me if I do. Why am I listening to it alone?”

Then, the growl came again. She covered her ears. Her eyes shut.

“Please! I didn't kill my parents,” she mumbled, her head bent low. “I don't know how they got poisoned. I only served them tea.”

“What's she saying?” A masculine husky voice made her raise her head instantly only to see two huge dark men with their hairs almost covering their faces, standing with a lampstand before her. “Take her out!”

Her eyes grew wide. “Out? To where? It's dark everywhere, and you are supposed to be asleep too.” she lamented as they pushed her out of the cell. “Stop it, please! I can't see well in the dark.”

“Isn't she a werewolf?” one of them asked.

She glanced at them, finding it difficult and shameful to tell them that she was wolfless. They might end up beheading her, claiming that she was of no use to them since she had no wolf ability.

“She is! She is the Alpha Princess of the Moon Scarlet Pack. I wonder why they offered her to the King.” the other guard elaborated. “Between, slaves don't have time to sleep. If you have the chance to do so in the daytime, don't hesitate to….because you might play your role at night.”

“Now get going…” The other with the lampstand pushed her forward, and she walked in their middle.

She glanced back several times to meet the gaze of the guard behind her, her heart dropping into her belly. “Where are they taking me to at this time of the night? Don't they rest, at least?”

It was a long journey until they passed the Blackstone gate. They led her through another gate that was carved with gold throughout.

She couldn't get to look at it as it glittered, shining directly into her eyes. “What a waste of money!” she thought and pouted her lips. “Instead of using the money to take care of their slaves.” she halted, followed by a heavy hit on the chest of her back.

“Keep going!” the guard yelled to her.

She took a hard gulp, furrowing her brows. “Slaves are not taken care of. I wonder what I was even thinking.” she kept contemplating, not until she hit her foot on the pavement and let out a soft groan. “Ouch! It's dark.” her face contorted as she climbed the pavement.

As she walked past a huge door still carved with gold, and it shut behind her.

She froze at that spot, gaze affixed on a spot.

“Why did they leave? Who should I meet here?” she rolled her eyes to the side, catching a glimpse of the guards standing at the side.

The sudden sound of footsteps made her shudder. It was serene and steady until a lady dressed like a warrior stood before her.

She knitted her brows. The lady was dressed like Ronan, who had been guiding her in the daytime. Were they siblings? She shook her head. They didn't have the same looks; just the dressing.

“I am the King's right-hand woman—” the lady began, tilting her head to the side while taking a closer look at Odessa, “....while Ronan is the King's right-hand man. My name is Lyra.”

Odessa rubbed her nose. Of what use was their name to her? Were they going to save her ass from dying?

“Tonight, you will serve the King,” Lyra added and turned her back to Odessa.

Her eyes bulged. She didn't know what exactly to ask about since she had a lot on her mind. While Lyra walked, she trailed behind, palms clutched against each other.

They reached a certain room, and Odessa was taken in by the maids standing at the corridor.

She looked at Lyra. The fact that she had a lot in her mind was vivid on her face, but she couldn't gather herself to speak until Lyra vanished from her sight.

“Bow to Mistress Pandra!” one of the female servants said to her.

She glanced at them and lowered her head. “Greetings, Mistress Pandra!” her voice was audible enough but with anger filled in it.

It's not even a day since she came into their clan, and she had met several faces already. Now, she's wondering how many faces she would meet and bow to the next day.

“How can a wolfless thing serve the King?” Mistress Pandra voiced out, strolling around Odessa. “She might end up dying in there just after her blood is sucked.”

Blood? What business does a Lycan King have to do with her blood?

Odessa forced herself to turn to the mistress, “What do you mean? How will he suck my blood when he isn't a vampire?”

“You will learn tonight that not only vampires feed on blood. You should just pray that the moon goddess keeps you alive after he feeds on your blood.” Mistress Pandra turned to the door, shoving her hair to the back. “Lyra, do you think she will sate the King since she's wolfless?”

There was silence for some time until Lyra responded. “I can't respond to that. Wolfless or not, she's still a werewolf, so the King will make his choice.”

Odessa frowned. Were they not supposed to be doing all kinds of manual hectic jobs as slaves? When did slaves end up becoming a meal to a Lycan?

“If you end up being of no use to the King,” Mistress Pandra rested her left palm on her shoulder, sniffling just behind Odessa. “....then you will end up executed tomorrow morning unless your pack offers another female slave.”

Her stomach rumbled, followed by an excruciating pain that struck her lower abdomen. This was more cruel than she thought. Now, she can tell why she was hearing the Lycans grunt….it's all because she was the next person to sate his taste for blood.

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Mistress Pandra and the other female servants dressed up Odessa in a long slave dress that greased the floor. She took a good look at herself, spinning around. Why would they prefer black dresses as their favorite color?

She contorted her face the moment she was pinned at a spot, and a raw oily scent was dropped on her palms to rub on her body. “King Godric loves the oily scent, so he would probably hope to inhale it from your body when you get closer.” Mistress Pandra said to her without being asked.

One of the servants packed her hair into a ponytail before rolling it into a rose.

“All these care, I think it's just this time, right? You all wish that I don't return?” Odessa spoke up. She hated that she was dressed like a dark princess when she had been a slave to them.

They looked at each other and snorted.

“Wish for your safety, slave. We don't care if you make it out alive or not….” Mistress Pandra snapped at her before tying the ribbon around her packed hair. “You will get going, and I hope you return safely, so my King won't bother getting another disgusting creature from your pack again.”

Odessa clenched her teeth. Do they truly see them that way? She had wondered several times what happened between the werewolves, humans, and the Lycans that made them enemies.

The lycans are the strongest and would tear them apart. Was that the reason her species collided with the humans?

“Keep going! Lyra will take you to the King's chambers.” Pandra said to her, gesturing towards the door.

She spared them a last look before heading towards the door, her palms tucked into the gown. It's been fifteen years already since she wore a cloth like that, and now it looked like a burden. They would call it a slave dress because it didn't have some sort of design on it…..but to her, it was more like a princess's dress and was quite difficult for her to handle.

Lyra shut the door behind the moment she stepped out and led the way to the king's chamber. Even though it was still in the same building, it was still quite distant from the other rooms.

“Your Majesty!” Lyra lowered her head the moment they reached the door.

Odessa twisted her face, looking at the woman who seemed to be the king's right-hand woman. When do rulers have women as closest servants? It's always a Mistress and not a woman who would act like a warrior.

She looked at the door intently as it opened, and Lyra signaled her to hop into the room. “Be fast! You can't keep him waiting.” she scolded her, and she dashed into the room, face contorting like she was going to fight the King.

Her feet stiffened on the floor as she stood in the middle of the room. The door had been shut, and she was sure Lyra would leave.

How long was she going to be in the room? Till dawn?

There were lampstands covered in gloves, and in the four corners of the room, which brought enough light. She looked around, the room was more like a hall, or was it? The bed was supposed to be three in one. How could just a person live in such a room?

There were several artefacts, designs, and flowers in the room. It showed that he was indeed the king and nothing less.

“What next now? Should I lie on the bed?” her eyes tinted as she questioned herself. “Or, should I just stand here?”

The sound of a torn fabric halted her thoughts. She swirled her neck gradually to the back, and there was no one. Her back skin was brushed with a cool breeze, causing her to raise her hands backwards a bit, only to find her clothes torn.

Her eyes widened as if it would fall out. Mistress Pandra's statement resonated in her head again.

The King will feed on her blood!

“My—my blood!” her lips dropped open. “I will end up dead if this is how it is.” she thought, her limbs trembling as she found herself on the floor.

She kept looking around, trying to fish out where the King was, not until a serene wave of darkness hurled from the top to the floor, rotating before her very eyes.

A cold pit formed in her belly. Teeth quivering. “He is here already!” she sniffled, her breathing accelerating. “How does he even feel living in darkness?”

Her question was answered with a mighty growl that caused her heart to skip and her palms resting on her face, concealing her eyes not to see what was happening.

“That's not a lycan growl!” she pondered, frozen to that spot. “Just suck my blood and let me go.” she almost screamed, but her lips weren't moving.

A loud growl came again, coming closer to her at each tick of the clock. She prayed the ground would open and eat her up because she didn't wish to see whatever it was that was before her.

Her palms perspired. Her clothes were soaked up already.

She peeped through her fingers and couldn't believe what she saw. Not a Lycan, then what was that?

“A Kyrennei!?” her voice was almost a scream, but she was panting, and that made it difficult for her to speak. She let go of her face, her eyes still shut as the grunt of the creature reached closer to her face.

At six years old, her teacher had listed so many shapeshifters like them, and the Kyrennei were among them. She could recall being told how it was such a scarce but fierce creature that could overpower a lycan.

‘Kyrennei requires blood from other creatures to sustain themselves, but mostly, humans.’

Her teacher's words rang in her ears again. She understood why he would feed on her blood, but why not a human instead? She wasn't a human!

Maybe because she was wolfless and looked like a human, right?

The sniffling of the creature drew her out of her thoughts. She snapped her eyes open to meet its furnace eyes dazzling into hers. The room became so suffocating for her.

Her heart race quickened the more it got its head closer behind her neck, until its fangs stuck on her fabric dress, drawing it away like it was some piece of trash.

She knew it. Those women didn't waste their dress to please their king, but because she had to look good for the last time before her death.

Hot sweats formed on her forehead, rolling down to her lips. “Just suck my blood, please!” she cried out, followed by the pain that rushed through her body up to her brain.

She struggled to keep up with it, but its fangs piercing into every part of her flesh were more like death itself. She tightened her fist on the remaining cloth still on her thighs. “Oh moon goddess!” A scream that went as far from the palace building left her throat.

‘If we ever meet again, I'll rip you apart.’ The last statement of the King last six years ran through her memory.

She shut her eyes, tired of biting her lips to sustain the pain. “I can't survive it. I'm sure I won't,” she said to herself before letting go of her body.
