Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Georgina's POV

I made sales to the client in front of me, he needed some cheese cake. "Next!" I say not looking forward to who is next on the line. As I lift up my eyes to see who is next on line, I gasp in shock. I never expected. He looks at me so steadily, he is the world's most eligible bachelor, world's famous playboy, he's no other person but Alpha Christian, the Alpha of Asark. I never believed in my wildest dream that I'll meet with such a great personality like in my whole lifetime.

My life has been full of mainly downs, so I believed I'd always come up with downs. Crossing the path of such a great celebrity like him is a worthwhile achievement in my life. I put up a nice smile.

"Hello sir, what do you want?" I try to attach some prestige due to his personality. I don't feel the need to address him by Your Highness because he's not from my country. I'm from Ngotu, working in Ngotu and he comes from Asark. Two different countries.

He gives me a dominant grin, "I need pizza and soda."

"Right at your service sir," I rush towards the section where the listed items are kept, each in their glass showcase. I take each of them out, place them in a nice package bag and hand it over to him. "You go over there and pay the cash sir," I say politely, gesturing with my hands to the cashier that sits at the desk just opposite me a few meters away. His eyes trail my hand, he turns and walks over to the cashier.

I stare at his perfectly built body, bone-straight back, agile feet. His muscular arms strains against his perfectly fitted leather brown suit. I look back at my task in hand, I need to type in and record the recent sales on my system. I type some figures on my desktop, I glance back to see if he's done and probably say a goodbye to him. He's an Alpha and he needs special treatment. I raise my eyes a bit to do this but surprisingly his gaze meets mine, electricity shoots through my spine, I never wanted him to think about anything else. I give out a slight blush and continue typing into my system.

I sense those blue piercing eyes of his still watching me, I feel every temptation to look up but I hold my dignity in high esteem. I don't want it to seem like I'm flirting with him. In this organization I'm working for, professionalism is the key word. Aside from the fact that I'm bound by this, it's not my life to flirt with guys no matter how handsome they may look. I just admire them but flirting is a no-no.

Seconds later, I hear footsteps walking towards me, my heart begins to pound. I seem so serious with what I'm doing.

"Hello!" A deep, brash voice calls. I slowly lift up my head.

"Hello, Your Highness." I smile. It's my nature, it helps me evade being awkward.

"Do you always have to keep calling me Your Highness?" He speaks in a gentle mixed with desire, I grow surprised as he says this. What's so special about me that an Alpha would grant me such a privilege as this.

"No," I wanted to add something but my words just cut short, my throat doesn't want to produce any further words. My heart is really demanding him to do whatever he wishes to and get away from here, before I misbehave, his eyes and aura are holding me captive, I might start acting nervous if they persist. I bit the lower part of my lips, snapping my fingers. When I realize he's here and watching me, I pretend to be focusing solely on the screen and do that as a result of some mistake I made.

"Can I know a bit about you?" He asks.

I breath out, well braced to answer his question. "I'm Georgina Amoux, twenty. I'm from Ultimate Pack and I work here as the sales lady."

"Wow, what a nice name!"

"Thanks," I say with a blush.

"Georgina, I think you know my name?" He asks in his deep, sexy tone.

"Everyone knows you." I chuckle.

"Ooh, a very little mistake you make there. Not everyone knows me." Immediately I realize my mistake, I swallow the lump in my throat.

"I mean you're popular." I start to feel like he's distracting me from my work and merely flirting. Though I have respect for his status, I generally dislike flirts. It's one character that really disgusts me, I see flirts as mostly liars and cheaters. I want to stay focused on my work and don't need any distraction, it's my only source of livelihood and I don't wanna lose it, not even due to distractions from a well-known Alpha like him.

"Yeah!" He responds to my last statement with a certain level of disinterest, I guess what's his main interest in this conversation. I can't ask directly either, I would sound over-zealous or desperate.

"Do you have anything else you need?"

"No, not actually but I need something else. That's you!" His words fell on my ears like a heavy rod striking a metal, re-echoing against its walls. I wonder if this' a dream. Why would an Alpha say this to an ordinary girl like me?

I want to let out a gasp but I know it would make me seem naive, a non-experienced girl who jumps on every comment a man gives. I have never had any man wanting me before, I feel fulfilled at this but just don't wanna flirt with him. I squeeze the joy that wants to emerge out of me into myself, I let out a smile instead. I appreciate when people recognize me or see me as human, although I don't fancy it when they try to take advantage of me. I'm feeling special right now, I blush as I type something into the system.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Georgina's POV

Christian grins satisfactorily.

"Thanks," I mutter while throwing a glance on him before returning it back to the screen in front of me. Staring into my system's screen stops me from staring at him rigidly which I won't be able to help due to his great beauty, typing is another distraction from his handsome face and those pairs of charming blue eyes.

A reminder notification hits the screen, I gasp with my eyes wide, I have ten tasks to complete before I close from work with only a few hours left. I'd surely be in a massive problem with my strict boss if I can't clarify and put everything in place before 2 PM. My gaze shifts from the notification box to the bottom where the time reads 11:28 AM, merely two hours and some minutes for a task that requires up to three complete hours or more.

I had decided to execute these earlier but I forgot most especially as Alpha Christian came along the way. It's quite impossible to achieve this with the time left, anger, confusion and frustration rises inside me, my countenance changes. Christian observes this quite well. I glance at Christian with different eyes now, no longer simple and cordial, but with seriousness and stay-clear gesture. I ought to show diligence in my duty, giving no preference to him than I should. If I'm sacked, there might be nothing to do on his part as a remedy. Who even knows what his real intention is right now.

Christian leans across, on my desk trying to catch my attention but I seem more focused as I begin to work on the tasks before me. I got to start something even though I may not be able to finish it on time. I keep on focusing on my desktop, no longer interested in a conversation with him. He's not my class and would probably dumb me after using me. I don't want to be taken for granted, everyone knows how great a flirt he is.

As I type into my system, I take my eyes to and from the button corner to check time, with each passing second, I'm running out of time. Desperation starts to set in, I'm feeling like I'm losing right now, time is working faster than me as I race to finish up before 2 PM, sounds like an impossible task. I become so engrossed in my work that I no longer realize if Christian is still standing over my desk or not.

When I finally looked up as the time was up, he's no longer there. Instead of him, I saw my boss walking angrily towards me, from the elevator. I shiver, my heart begins to pound so heavily. He doesn't seem like a carrier of good news right now but bad, not being pessimistic but judging based on his appearance. He looks so pissed.

"Georgina, what the hell is wrong with you?" He begins the scolding a few inches from my position. "Why didn't you finish the tasks I assigned to you? Do you know the effects that single act of non-diligence has caused to this company?" He barks.

I shiver, not knowing what to say in response. My heart flashes back to Christian, he's the main reason I couldn't complete my task, the minutes we spent in our conversation would have been used in doing some meaningful things as this, we had a worthwhile conversation but I think, here is a more vital thing I should have paid more attention to because it has to do with my means of livelihood.

I feel so annoyed with him right now, I wished he was here to witness what he has caused.

I continue gazing at my boss with fear. "I.. I… I didn't..." I stammer, clearly nervous and shocked. Panic runs through my veins, a sense of tragedy hovers around.

"Georgina, you have no excuse, you're sacked!"

"What!" I scream. No no no, this seems like a dream. I don't believe what I just heard. "Please sir, I don't deserve this. I was with the.."

"I need no explanations, just know that you're sacked." Those words dropped heavily on my ears, I kept my eyes and mouth wide. Before I could react further, he walked off. I stare in shock as he walks off the ground floor to the elevator and ascends, my eyes steady on him till he's out of sight. When he's no longer in sight, I look at my desktop, no need to work on anything again. I've been sacked.

Tears begin to stream down from my eyes to my cheeks, I bend over my desk and cry. It dawns on me that a late customer or anyone might walk up and see me in this mood, so I quickly run to the restroom which is not so far away. I'd never been heartbroken this way before, I can't remember the last time I even cried.

I think the last time I cried was seven years ago when I lived with my mistress. I'd experienced the most horrible time ever, her ill treatments made me strong anyway. I cried a lot those days, I never thought that I'll have to shed tears for anything again. I learnt to be strong and be an independent woman who does not let negative energies around affect her.

Growing up, I never had the comforts and joys of every ordinary kid, I never lived with my parents but with a wicked stepmom. My mom died when I was five, dad died a year after leaving me with my stepmom and her three kids. They gave me the most horrible and inhumane treatment, there were times I forgot I was a human, rather I had these feelings most of the time that I was a beast, slave or some lower creature in my own childish mentality back then. I knew nothing like a loving care from a parent, but torture and hatred.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Georgina's POV

I can remember once she used a hot iron on my foot, because I failed to wash her clothes and iron before she came back from work. The misery was so much that I found myself escaping in the middle of the night, so I sneaked out of the house. Then I was eight years old.

After running away from home, I had nowhere to go and no one to stay with. I ended up living in the streets with other kids who had no one or who had run away from home like me, some were sent away. I would go out in the day doing cleaning jobs for people at homes, weeding their gardens for a little pay or food to satisfy my hunger.

That's how I survived till the government drove us out of the street into orphanages. Being that I never wanted to live in the orphanage and be adopted by any stranger, I escaped. I wanted to stay on my own. This' how I ran away to the Lisiac beach, a lonely beach with an abandoned beach house on the coast of Prymoth.

I would cover myself with a blanket every night, and in the day I'd continue with my manual jobs. The pay wasn't really much but it aided me in my survival battle. I got secondhand worn-out clothes for myself with the little money I made.

One afternoon, a certain woman visited the beach with her kids. We found each other, at first she thought I came for an alone time and medication like her but afterwards, through our conversation she realized I was homeless. She offered me a job as a domestic maid in her house, she promised that the pay would be eighty pounds per week, I'd get free food and accommodation. I immediately jumped at the idea, I was the luckiest girl on earth.

My first two months working with her was as promised, very smooth and I felt so glad. Things began to take a different turn from the third. Every little mistake on my part would cause her to deduct my wages, starve me and some nights I'd have to stay outside all night, exposed to the freezing cold and all dangers of the night. I bore it all for years before I finally got determined to pack and leave her apartment and my work. I'd served her for over eight years. Then I got employed here as an assistant. It happened that I was walking on the street a certain day when I saw the vacancy notice. I applied, luckily I was accepted. The manager at that time, that's three years ago, was so kind and compassionate, when he realized my condition, he employed me without need for an interview.

I promised myself that when I get a job and stand out as an independent woman, I'd be focused and dedicated. I made this determination because of the sufferings I passed through in my childhood and teenage years. I had kept to this promise until now when my wall starts crumbling down, I weep uncontrollably as I have no other job now. My mind flashes back to Alpha Christian. I wish I could see him now. I would pressure him to salvage the situation since he's the one that distracted me with his conversation, preventing me from remembering that I even had such tasks and hence finishing them on time.

After leaving my work as an assistant, I returned to idle in my rented apartment. I have a few months left to renew my rent, but there's no hope of money to do that, I'd just be thrown out if I can't pay on time.

I sigh in great frustration with tears dropping from my eyes as I try to play a video game on my phone to wile away time. Just then a call from an unknown number flashes on my screen pausing the game automatically. I grunt in anger, Who's this that is calling me when I'm about to play the most important part of my game? I stamp my feet on the floor in anger. I don't usually pick up calls with numbers unsaved in my lists but in this case, my spirit tells me to answer.

I click the accept button and take it to my ear, "Hello, who's calling?"

"Hi Georgina!" The husky voice says on the other side. It sounds familiar but I don't remember where I heard it.

"Please who are you?" I need to know who I'm talking with and confirm. Recently there are a lot of cases on the internet, featuring scammers who take advantage of unsuspecting individuals to get vital information about their life, most especially their bank details with the aid of great fabricated stories with justifiable nature, and at the end, they get to defraud their victims of money and other valuable assets. I don't have any they would take from me right now, so I have nothing much to fear.

The caller keeps quiet but for a while before his voice comes up again. "I'm Alpha Christian, I just decided to reconnect with you!" My heart skips, I almost drop my phone on the floor as I hear this. What a fuck! He's calling me again after about three months. What does he want? I'm utterly puzzled with this call, I'm nothing but just an ordinary girl no one even notices only me, how is it that a famous Alpha like this gets to call me back. Now I'm torn between excitement for him remembering me and anger for being the cause of losing my job.

"Why're you calling, Your Highness?" I am so eager to get a response to this. It's just so puzzling especially as Alpha Christian is married but without a kid. He got married to his wife who is now the lady of Asark about three years ago. I get mixed feelings upon Christian's call because of his super flirtatious lifestyle where he can't be steady with one woman in his life but moves from one girl to another.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Georgina's POV

I wonder if it's the same thing he wants to do with me but I'm no one compared to the super-classy models and actresses he deals with.

"I just wanted to ask how you're doing, how your work is going on." He replies after a minute of silence but his tone tells more than that, it has some undercurrents of interest.

"I was sacked," I snapped, saying in a sorrowful tone. A gasp escapes his throat, a gasp I can hear clearly.

"What was wrong, I mean, I can't believe this?"

"Hmm," I scoff, rolling my eyes. Aren't you the one that caused it? I wanted to say but something holds me back, it would sound disrespectful. "I can't really relate but… but I was found indiligent, I didn't complete my duty before the set time." I put this up rather, I listen back to it and it sounds nice, better than what I intended to say earlier.

"Has it been long, which day was that?"

"The day we met!" Immediately, silence fills the space between us, Christian can't say a word. This persists until I feel that he has ended the call from his end, I withdraw it from my ear to check but he's still on, why isn't he saying something then? "Your Highness?"

"Yes," his voice finally came up. "I'm so sad to hear this, I mean, come on, that's so bad. But I see you as a diligent girl, why would that happen to you?"

"Hmm," I exhale heavily, this question is a huge temptation, how will I answer it without saying what I wish to avoid the most. "It happened that way and I needed to accept it." I just managed to say, it sounds abstract but it's better simple like that.

"So what're you doing now?"

"Nothing!".

"Would you like working with me?"

"Wha..?" I gasp, I think I didn't hear him quite well or it's a dream. "How would that be possible, you're in Asark and I'm in Ngotu, you see the distance between us?" I speak with a nervous tone, it's very surprising.

"It doesn't matter."

"But I don't get what you mean?" The true character of Christian flies into my memory. He's a flirt that loves hooking up with girls even when he's already married. What type of a job does he mean? Could it be that he's referring to my greatest suspicion?

"All challenges concerning our distance and other factors wouldn't bother you if you accept." His statement drops with an aura of authority leaving me pondering, would I be able to cope with his attitude. If I work for him, that means I'll to a great extent be under his authority and he might want to try me out like he does to other girls. I shake my head in reluctance.

"I'm sorry but I might..."

"You don't have to bother, nothing to fear. I'm just seeking to help you get on with life. You just can't stay unemployed. Think about it."

"You're the Alpha, where will I work?"

"In my company or as my Personal Assistant."

"I'm sorry, I don't have the qualifications, looking for low paying jobs. I never went to college, so I'm ineligible for this." I reply, a bit confident, this would be such a great opportunity for me but I don't see myself working as a PA to this charming and seductive Alpha when he already has a wife. I'd be so close in this position and a series of temptations might come along the way. I would love to work in his multi-billionaire fashion company and institute which according to Forbes has over three hundred thousand staff, but I have no paper qualifications.

He keeps silent for a while, before he finally sighs in frustration. I feel he's ready to say something else, "Can we meet personally and talk about this?"

"Where?" I say rolling my eyes, I don't wanna be tempted.

"In Asark."

I chuckle as he says this, I don't even have money to feed and he's talking of me meeting him in Asark.

"But I don't have the transport to come over?"

"I will send my private jet to come pick you up at the airport, don't worry." Oh my goodness! I chuckle, this must be a pure joke.

My heart begins to sink slowly into the unexpected excitement. A voice within me tells me it's real, Christian means what he has just said. Never in my life have I dreamt of one day taking a flight, talk less of being transported in a private jet to meet an Alpha who is the world's richest werewolf personality.

There's silence between us, I sense Christian being under great tension wondering if I'd decline again but who would be that foolish to forfeit this great opportunity? "Thanks so much Alpha Christian," I finally said, trying hard to control my excitement. I feel that his tension is gone now I've accepted his offer.

"You're welcome," he replies with a cold, sexy voice and hangs up the call. Immediately I drop the phone on my bed, I jump up in excitement letting out such a loud scream which I believe some neighbors many meters away would hear. Today is the happiest day of my life, a day I wouldn't easily forget, a day set down in the history of my life.

"Asark, here I come!" I scream so loud.

On the day Christian scheduled for my trip, I packed my things, the little things I have, ready to make the most interesting trip of my life. All my body is giggling, my face beaming with smiles. I can't wait to reach Asark and meet with my fortune. Days of suffering are over and long gone, I'd only remember them as history now.

As I reach Asark International Airport, I walk to the spot for private jets. From a distance, I see a large jumbo aircraft waiting for me, it has giant prints of Alpha Christian inscribed on its side in deep blue as the body of the plane is white. I blush, walking up excitingly.

Chapter 5

Georgina's POV

The guides at the airport direct me towards the plane. "Are you Miss Georgina?" One of the officials asked me as I approached the plane's stance.

"Yes, I am."

"You're welcome to the Asark Airport, I believe you're ready to make your flight to Asark." I nod. "We wish you a wonderful experience." He smiles at me and I return a warm smile. A man from among them guides me through the stairs of the plane, I hold the railings as I climb up. My belongings are being taken by three of them to the cargo hold.

I get filled with great expectations as I climb the stairs finally into the plane. "Wow!" I couldn't help but exclaim, the inside is so wide and long, almost everything is made of gold, the walls, seats and floor. Refrigerators and dispensers stand at the extreme corner, I glance around seeing the inscriptions of rooms in it, the bedroom, bathroom among others. This is one of the best private jets from the rough estimate of things though I've never entered a plane before now.

"You're free to use any of them," the man guiding me says, pointing to the facilities. "The Alpha personally instructed me to permit you to be in great convenience here. So you're free!"

"Thanks," I say with a slight bow. It's the Alpha I'm indirectly thanking for this kind gesture though he's not around.

He directs me into my seat. I choose to sit beside the window so I can get a proper view of the earth as we travel. I find this more adventurous than the extravagance Christian has permitted me to enjoy today right inside this plane.

Few minutes later, I hear the door of the plane close, it's time to go. "Fasten your seat belt, the flight takes off in thirteen minutes." I hear the captain announce but I can't see him, the sound system on the wall relates his instructions to me. As I can see, everything here is high-tech. I do as he says, I fasten my seat belt. I wonder if all the officials I met with would follow me on this trip or I'll just be alone with the pilot whom I can't even see, whether it's a robot in there or human captain.

I gaze out into the window all through the flight, at some point I begin to feel hungry. I feel pissed that the air hostess didn't care to bring me some snacks, then I remember that this' a private jet and all I need is at my disposal. For the first time I walked around after getting into the plane. I find myself admiring the different rooms, facilities and scenes inside the plane.

I opened it and took out a chocolate pizza and a strawberry fruit drink. These are my favorites. I walk to the extravagant bedroom with a family-sized bed. I had been permitted to use this. I sit on it, placing the drink on the small bedside table while munching my pizza, I sip my drink along with it. Finally, I was done, I only had to take the last sip of my drink then throw it into the disposer at the far corner.

I feel so exhausted, I need to rest a bit at least before the plane lands. I slide into the soft bed, "Ahhh!" I moan in pleasure as I rest my head on the soft pillow. Is this how life with money is sweet? All my life, I have been accustomed to pain and humiliation. I never realized when I fell asleep, not until the voice of the pilot enhanced by the sound system on the walls woke me up.

"Seven minutes to land, fasten your seat belt."

I hurriedly rush off from the bed, slide into my shoes and walk off to my seat where I heed to the captain's instruction. I resumed my seat near the window as I did earlier. My sleep was short but blissful, I hope to have such a good sleep again.

"The plane is descending in a few seconds." The captain announces again. My heart skips as he says this, in a few seconds I'd be on Asark and soil, and in a few more minutes or hours, I'd meet with the world's most eligible werewolf personality. I had heard that a plane descending can sometimes be more frightening than when it's taking up, this' the exact experience I got.

As the stairs of the plane are dropped down for me to descend, I get filled with high hopes of having Christian welcome me. I descend it, smiling widely. I also find officials here, but different faces from the ones I met back in Ngotu. Perhaps they work for the airport and not the Alpha.

"Welcome to Ashland pack, Asark. This is Dulles International Airport. You'd meet with the Alpha in few hours." My joy slowly slides down as one of the officials tells me this, that means that Christian isn't here at the airport. I feel a change in the atmosphere of things, that special feeling and pride I had in Ngotu, my country is gone. This' no longer Ngotu but Asark where Christian is in authority. I feel the air of his dominance sweep across me, I feel so stupid to expect a revered Alpha like him coming to welcome me at the airport as if I'm the President or a member of the celebrity class.

I get guided into a tinted black Bugatti that is parked at the car zone and we drive away with my luggage at the boot.

The car parks in front of the palace of Alpha Christian. Never have I seen a palace so massive or beautiful like his, not even in pictures and on TV. His castle, the personal one he lives in among the various buildings here is magnificent, it stands out alone among the rest. It's built with glass and steel.

"His Highness is at his home office now, I'm taking you to go see him." The man guiding me from the airport says, I quiver. "Don't be afraid but maintain your composure, give him the respect he deserves."
