Kiara Shares Hope That Derrick Does Not

Pandora has admired Derrick for years without speaking to him, so she brings expectations that far exceed their actual familiarity. His impatient response contrasts with Kiara's eager questions and reassurance when Pandora announces the bond. Kiara and Eric's mutual acceptance also supplies a model Pandora hopes to share. The opening invites a distinction between support from a friend and evidence that the hoped-for partner feels the same way.

Which of Pandora's expectations comes from Derrick's behavior, and which comes from hope or another couple's example?
