Relationships in the opening
Rena's Loyalty Becomes a Source of Danger
Rena is an ordinary wolf who repeatedly returns to Sihana despite being hurt for defending her. Sihana's care takes the form of trying to send her away from danger, while Rena continues staying close. Their attachment becomes painfully unequal in a system where Sihana cannot protect the companion who protects her. The opening's strongest bond is therefore not an anticipated partnership but a friendship whose loyalty places both at risk.
Why does Sihana try to push away the companion she most wants to keep?
