Relationships in the opening

An Old Friend Asks for a Risky Favor

Agnes has reduced contact with Elise to avoid being traced through their friendship, but Elise arrives distressed and still treats her as the person she can trust. The request is substantial: impersonate her so she can leave with the mate her parents reject. Agnes wants to help while also asking who will bear the consequences. The opening makes friendship a negotiation between loyalty and the real costs of another person's escape.

Does Elise's urgency leave enough room for Agnes's own responsibilities and risks?
