Relationships in the opening

Shared Reconstruction Deepens an Old Friendship

Feyre and Asher remain after council meetings out of a habit formed while rebuilding their damaged pack. Their familiarity includes confidence in her judgment, affectionate protectiveness, and a family connection created when his mother took her in. This established bond differs from Feyre's private hopes for a future mate who will choose her as a person. The opening allows friendship, family, and desired partnership to remain distinct forms of attachment.

How does Asher's existing support differ from what Feyre hopes a future partner will offer?
