Relationships in the opening

A Sisterly Bond Recast as Resentment

Ava has treated Olivia as a younger sister and helped care for her, so discovering her with Ethan breaks more than marital trust. Olivia describes the same history as a theft of attention and position, leaving Ava struggling to recognize the relationship she thought they shared. The opening lets their conflicting interpretations stand in direct confrontation. Their exchange makes the meaning of past care part of the conflict, as each woman describes that shared history differently.

Which acts Ava understood as care does Olivia reinterpret as interference or competition?
